The Five Big Health-Care Dilemmas

Karen Tumulty wrote an interesting article detailing 5 areas where the U.S. faces major obstacles to the overhaul of the health care system. For those who want to skip reading the article and just take a look at the 5 major issues she outlines, they are here:

  1. Will there be a big, new government system?
  2. How can a nation already deeply in debt afford health-care reform too?
  3. Can we really cover everyone?
  4. What will be covered? (this is probably the single most important issue, but the least discussed)
  5. How will we bring down costs?

It is a good introduction to the major issues we face for health-care reform and a great jumping off point for those who haven’t been following the debate. Check out the article here.

It is a bit of a financial nightmare, but I think the infrastructure is there to support it.
